Q: How does Microneedling work?
A: Ultra fine needles penetrate the skin at different depths, creating micro–channels which stimulate a wound healing response leading to the production of new collagen and elastin.

Once the micro-channels have been created, this allows for increased absorption of serums applied to the skin. Microneedling significantly increases the amount of serum delivered within the skin compared with traditional treatments.

Q: Can microneedling be used on patients of all ages?
A: Yes, young skin that doesn’t yet require lifting and tightening can benefit from Microneedling. Treatments can focus on specific concerns such as enlarged pores, or uneven skin texture to improve the overall skin quality. Patients with laxity concerns can benefit from the dual effect of microneedling with serums. As microneedling offers many different needle depths and intensity settings treatments can be easily customized to every different skin and level of concern.
Q: How does the treatment feel?
A: During the treatment there is generally minimal discomfort.

Topical anesthetics are available for clients with sensitive skin should they wish to apply it prior to treatment.

Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: Results can be seen after one session, however, a minimum of 3 and up to 6/8 treatments, at 4 week intervals, deliver the best results depending on the skin condition.
Q: What results should I expect?
A: Most patients see an improvement in the appearance, texture and tightness of the skin 2 to 3 weeks after the first treatment. Your results will continue to improve up to 12 weeks after the final treatment. There is virtually no downtime. A slight swelling and redness are present immediately post-treatment but should subside quickly.
Q: Possible risks?
A: Possible risks or discomforts (side effects) may include pain, burning sensation, bruising, reddening, swelling, dry flaky skin, infection, pigment changes including decrease or increase in skin colour at the site of treatment.

When a new skin care regime or treatment is undertaken It is not uncommon in some circumstances that spot blemishes and changes to the skin can happen but it is a phase known as skin purging that often leads to a healthier long term result. Everyone’s skin is unique, therefore the timeframe can differ from person to person. Generally speaking, purging should be over within four to six weeks of starting a new skin care regime.
